Benefits…..
Community: Many members consider relationships they build through AEA to
be the most valuable and lasting of all the association’s benefits. Through
online email groups, state association meetings, and the annual convention, our
members have the opportunity to network and grow.
Leadership Opportunities: AEA offers leadership opportunities to its
members to help them hone and enhance their leadership skills. Members have the
opportunity to gain experience by serving in a leadership position at a state or
national level. Organizational and motivational skills gained through
state/national board or committee leadership positions can also improve and
enhance work performance in your business.
Information: As with any business, it is important to stay on top of the
industry news.
The AEA EMUpdate is a bi-monthly 20 plus page newsletter packed with
information concerning AEA activities. Learn what members around the country are
doing, about the latest research around the world, about legislative issues and
much more. The newsletter is archived online in the “Members Only” section of
the AEA website.
Research Library – coming soon – To be available in the “Members Only”

AEA Insurance Options:
AEA health insurance options: AEA recognizes that many members are
interested in obtaining health insurance as a benefit of affiliating with their
professional association.
Because insurance regulations vary from state to state, it is difficult to find
a broker that operates in every state. Furthermore, our small membership does
not give us enough leverage to negotiate discounts because the number of
interested members in any single state is not large enough for preferential
rates. We can't guarantee the cheapest rates; but we can provide a place for you
to go to try to find a plan that meets your needs.
As of 2005, AEA has been able to enter into an agreement with an online broker
for group and individual health insurance underwritten by a variety of carriers
and organizations in most states.
While this option does not offer discounts based on AEA membership, it does
offer a way for members to compare and contrast carriers that offer insurance in
their state and to find the best rates to meet their circumstances. This is an
online offering, but at any point in the process, members can call an 800 number
to help determine their best options. Additional information is available in the
Members Only Section under “Member Benefits” at http://www.aea-emu.org
Pharmacy Discount Card: Enclosed with your membership packet are two
Pharmacy Discount Card for our members who do not currently have health
insurance, or have insurance that does not cover prescriptions. If you need
additional cards, please ask. You do not have to sign up for anything; there are
no monthly dues. Simply print your name on the card and present it to your
pharmacist. You will be automatically enrolled in the program to begin saving
immediately. The AEA Discount Prescription Drug Card utilizes ScripSolutions, a
pharmaceutical healthcare organization with a nationwide network of over 45,000
pharmacies including most national chains, including Wal-Mart, Kmart, Rite Aid,
Krogers and many more. Additional information is available in the Members Only
Section under “Member Benefits” at http://www.aea-emu.org
Life Insurance Plan: Face amounts of $2,000 up to $50,000 (depending upon
age) with no medical exam. This plan of insurance is permanent Whole Life
protection. Unlike Term Life, a whole life policy will build cash value. Even if
you have health problems, you can probably qualify for this insurance.
